Innovation Prize Awarded by Netzwerk ZENIT e.V.
Netzwerk ZENIT e.V. presented the winners of their innovation prize which is in its eightth year. On 6 March 2018, in a ceremony held in the city of Mühlheim an der Ruhr, it was Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart, Minister of Economy, Innovation, Digitization and Energy in the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia, who handed over the prizes in his position as patron of the competition. Next to the winner, five out of 22 companies who had submitted high-profile entries to the competition were honored with awards. This year’s competition motto had been „Cooperation as key to success“ and had motivated small and medium sized companies throughout the state of North Rhine Westphalia to apply for the prize with innovative product or service ideas based on cooperations with universities, research institutions or other companies. Due to the extremely high quality of submissions it had been decided to honor a total of six projects. One of the five award-winning companies was Coatema Coating Machinery GmbH based in Dormagen and partner of the Fraunhofer ISC in the EU-funded EELICON project. Project leader at the Fraunhofer ISC is Dr. Uwe Posset who is happy to see his project win such acclaim.
